Notes: This is a very rare phenomonon described by Prof. Marcel Minnaert in his classic book “Light and Color in the Outdoors”. It is, in fact, a psychological effect. Notice the dark “triangle” between the moon and the surface of the ocean. Place your hand over the bright, reflected moonlight in the ocean, and the dark area disappears!!
