Subject: Thick Ash Deposits and Lava Blocks from a fresh Pyroclastic Flow
Location: Northeast Flank of Arenal Volcano, Costa Rica
Notes: Image made while hiking on the mountain in a restricted hazard area. The Pyroclastic Flow had occurred only a week earlier, and many of the blocks were still warm to the touch. Taken while working on the show “Volcano Hunters” for National Geographic Television.
